The Austine Green Mountain Lions Camp provides a wonderful summer program for deaf and hard of hearing children, their siblings, and children with deaf parents.

A one week day camp is available for children 3-5 years old and overnight camp is available for children 6 years old until they graduate high school. Children ages 6-9 come for one week sleep over camp, while our sessions for 10-13 and 14-18 year-olds continue for two weeks. We have also added a one-week Independent Living Skills Camp (ILSC) this year! ILSC includes our typical camp activities at a more laid-back pace and focuses on independent skills that some of our campers work on during the school year. Contact the Camp Director for more details.

Activities include: Literacy, Art, and Drama classes, bonfires with skits and story telling, swimming, hiking, leadership opportunities and team building games. Multiple well-known field trips to a science museum, baseball game, and water park, as well as new field trips are also on the agenda!

Experienced staff and deaf role-models, exciting activities, and unforgettable friendships keep campers coming back every year!

Extended Year Program (EYP): During the summer months, some students experience significant regression in the basic skill areas. An EYP is necessary to maintain these students’ skills. The Austine Green Mountain Lions Camp is approved by the State Department of Education as an option for meeting students’ EYP goals. Please contact your Local Education Agency (LEA) for further information about adding summer camp to your child’s IEP.
