Deaf Vermonters Advocacy Services (DVAS) is a program that serves victims of domestic and sexual violence who are Deaf and hard of hearing and provides prevention education to the Deaf community. DVAS provides direct support to Deaf Vermonters through medical and legal advocacy and referral to therapeutic counseling.

DVAS also provides training to involved agencies, including police departments, court personnel, and shelter staff, in order to assure that Deaf clients receive appropriate communication access and other technical assistance throughout any necessary proceedings.

DVAS believes that Deaf people in Vermont have the right to live in a violence-free environment. Our mission is to ensure that all Deaf victims have equal access to support services.
