VT Rep. Welch recognizes Austine Student

VT Rep/ Peter Welch hosted the 31st Annual Congressional Art  Competiton for High School students at The Gallery at
VT College of Fine Arts in Montpelier on May 14, 2012.
Caleb Wimble,who attends the Austine School for the Deaf was honored with the Congressman Welch's Choice award
for his piece, "Cat  and Dog (Grant Wood)."

This year's competition featured artwork from 158 VT high school students from 34 schools throughout the state.
The competition was initiated by former Rep. Jim Jeffords  in  1981 as a way to celebrate the artistic talent of the nation.
The winning artwork from each congressional district throughout the country is displayed in the US Capitol for one year.
